The Metal Trades / Service Fitters Scholarship Competition is open to both graduating high school seniors and current college students.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

1.  Be the son or daughter of a parent who is a member in good standing of Metal Trades Branch Local 638 and is employed by a contributing contractor to the Service Fitters Industry Promotional Fund; or  
2.  Be the son or daughter of a full-time salaried employee of a contributing contractor to the Service Fitters Industry Promotional Fund.  

Children of company officers, principals, or major stockholders are NOT eligible for this scholarship.

Applicants who choose to attend a tuition-free college or who receive another scholarship may have their award adjusted at the discretion of the Service Fitting Industry Scholarship Program, and an alternate recipient may be selected.

Applicants receiving the Excelsior Scholarship are not eligible.

Application Requirements

Your application is NOT considered complete until an official transcript is received.

•  College students must submit an official college transcript  
•  High school students must submit an official high school transcript  

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all transcripts are received by March 2. Applications missing transcripts after this deadline will be deemed ineligible.

Submission of standardized test scores is optional.

All correspondence regarding your application will be conducted through the Submittable platform. Please monitor your email closely for updates and notifications.

Recommendations

Letters of recommendation may be:

•  Uploaded directly to your application, or  
•  Sent via email to mischa@nymca.org, or  
•  Mailed to: 535 Eighth Avenue, 17th Floor New York, NY 10018
